About Us

North Country Custom Builders believe that what they do is more than a job. They are dedicated to crafting state-of-the-art homes from the sincere desire to bring people's dreams to life. They are passionate about the many beautiful homes they have constructed throughout the Brainerd Lakes area. With each custom-home project they design and build, they keep the homeowner's dreams at the forefront at every stage in the process.

North Country Custom Builders know that a Minnesota home needs to withstand everything the four seasons can bring and their design and craftsmanship are up to the challenge and exceed the industry's standards.

They begin by carefully selecting everything from the building materials to the heating/AC. Their knowledge and attention to detail balance beautiful design with energy-efficient construction. Best of all, North Country Custom Builders take a hands-on approach. This means NCCB's owner will be onsite daily to provide personal attention to the progress of your home construction.

Whether your project is large or small—a new construction or a remodel—North Country Custom Builders will do whatever it takes to make your vision a reality. That's why they're called "Custom Builders"—they make sure your perfect dream home is designed and constructed to your specifications. There will never be another home identical to yours.

Do you long for the ease and comfort of finally coming home? Let the craftsmen at North Country Custom Builders help you open the door to your ultimate dream home.

Team Leaders

barry-frieler-250x250.jpgBarry Frieler, President

Barry Frieler has been in construction since he was twelve. He began by assisting his grandfather and his uncle in Lake Henry, Minnesota. He learned how to do everything from roofing, demolition, drywall—you name it, he tackled it. Barry worked alongside his uncle for many years, as he continued toward becoming a professional contractor.

In 1999, Barry moved to the Brainerd area to work for a local contractor and he quickly discovered he had a strong desire for quality work, rather than what he was seeing. This prompted him to incorporate North Country Custom Builders in 2001 where he now brings his skill and craftsmanship fully to life.

When he's not working, Barry loves hunting and fishing—he is a passionate fly-fisher and grouse hunter. His love for the natural environment and the beauty of the north woods surroundings led him to the realization that when he moved to Nisswa, he found home.

Dennis Blosberg, Vice President

He uses his knowledge of cost planning and management to help clients choose among construction options, giving them the best value.

Dennis has a B.S. in Business Managment from University of Minnesota Mankato, concentrating in Construction Management, and a minor in Economics/Finance. He has completed engineering coursework at St. Cloud State and University of WI-Madison. He completed the American Society of Healthcare Engineers Healthcare Construction Certification and has the Certified Healthcare Facilities Manager Credential.

He enjoys hunting upland bird hunting, golfing, and fishing, and exploring the high desert of Utah.
